ARGUMENT – The main argument of the entire website is that educating people of the sexuality is much more effective than avoiding the topic.
AUDIENCE – The audience is everyone, but specifically adults that deal with youth. (Teachers, parents, leaders, etc.)
GOAL – The main goal of this entire website is to inform people of reasons to educate the youth about sexuality and the different ways to do so.
HOW – Logos: This website uses a lot of logos by using different statistics for all of its claims. There are many different pages within the website, but specifically for my paper, I am using the topics of comprehensive and abstinence sexuality education. In both of these sections, the creators use a lot of statistics and facts to show evidence of what works and doesn’t work.
Pathos: The authors also use pathos on this website. They appeal to adults inner emotions through their fear of teaching these such emotional topics. Sexuality education is a big topic that encompasses a lot and is very close to a person’s heart and feelings. Many adults are fearful of how to teach it or are embarrassed. This website combats these feelings by giving information and also tips of how to do such.
Sufficient: This website definitely gives sufficient evidence. There are multiple pages that just give the actual facts and statistics of the subject. They give numerous examples and studies to prove the truth. There is definitely sufficient evidence for their case that educating the youth is better than avoidance.
Accurate: While all of their information on the website is backed up by studies, they definitely are biased in their claim. They do not give any information on any counterarguments of not educating the youth. They just do not talk about that part. The only facts and statistics they give are to help their cause. In this case, they are not very accurate because they aren’t painting the whole picture, only the part they want you to see and believe.
IS IT EFFECTIVE – Overall, this website is very effective. Through the evidence that they have, it is very convincing for adults that educating the youth on their sexuality proves to be better than not.
